  • Setting up
    • Choose a character to play as:
      • Zed
      • Addison
    • Choose up to 2 dance partners.
      • Three individual dance partners are already unlocked.
      • You can unlock 3 more.

      • You can unlock 3 more.
    • Choose a song and a difficulty level.
      • There are 3 songs to choose from.
      • By default, you can only play in easy mode at first.
      • Reach score goals to unlock hard mode.
  • Basic rules
    • The left side of the screen has 4 vertical lanes on which notes (represented by glyphs) travel down.
    • Hit the circle at the bottom of the lanes (the beat pads) as the glyphs through them to earn points.
    • Your performance is measured on a bar on the lower left.
      • The bar starts half-filled at the beginning of the game.
      • Each time you select the note at the right moment, you fill up the bar.
      • Every missed or incorrect note depletes the bar.
      • If the bar is completely depleted, the game ends.
    • Earn enough points to meet the level goal. With each goal you meet, you unlock a new character, mod, or gif file.
    • At the end of the game, the game outlines your statistics:
      • You can the gif of the song you just played.
      • Select Play Again to return to the character selection screen.
  • Scoring
    • The game rates your strikes depending on where on the beat pad the glyph is selected.
      • Hitting the glyph on the edge of the circle nets you a “fair” rating.
      • Hitting the glyph on the inside of the circle nets you a “great” rating.
      • A perfect rating happens when you hit the glyph at the center of the circle.
    • Each strike is worth a different set of points at base value.
      • Fair strikes start at 250 points.
      • Great strikes are worth 500 points.
      • Perfect strikes are worth 1,000 points.
    • Streaks are the key to maximizing your score.
      • Each time you make a streak, you gain a multiplier bonus on every strike you make.
        • A streak of 10 grants a multiplier of 2.
        • A streak of 20 grants a multiplier of 3.
        • A streak of 50 grants a multiplier of 4.
      • The multiplier affects all the strikes. If you play a perfect note with a 2x multiplier, for instance, you gain 2,000 points.
      • The streak ends when you miss a note.
