• Starting the Game
  • Press the blue PLAY button at the bottom center of the welcome screen to bring up the level select screen.
    • Levels are unlocked sequentially.
    • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress.
  • The welcome screen has a sound control button in the upper left corner.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • Press the left arrow key to move left.
    • Press the right arrow key to move right.
    • Press the up arrow key to jump, or to exit through open gates.

      • The move left and right buttons are in the lower left corner of the screen.

  • Basics
    • This is a simple room escape platformer where you must get a witch to exit through the gate to the next stage.
    • To unlock the gate you must collect the blue flame.
    • On some stages the blue flame is encased, requiring you to press a red button to access it.
    • You must complete each stage without getting hit. There are a broad array of enemies in this game, highlighted below.
  • Enemies
    • Bats – they chase after you, flying in the most direct route possible
      • they can through platforms
      • depending on your movement pattern you may or may not wake the bats
      • the bats are often woke when you land on a specific platform or when you reach the blue flame
    • Spikes – hit them and you die
      • if they are on the side of a platform you are standing on and are facing horizontally you still may need to jump a bit early to avoid them
      • if they are on the side of a platform you are jumping onto you have to land a bit deeper into the platform to miss them
    • Falling stones – these look like stone icicles
      • they often fall right as you run under them
      • you can run under and back to activate them early, or simply sprint past, but be sure not to stop underneath
    • Flame flowers – these shoot a steady stream of fireballs at you
      • the aim of the flower adjusts after each shot
    • Skulls – these shoot horizontal fireballs at a regular cadence
      • aim angle does not change
    • Arrow throwers – these are just like the skulls.
      • they can shoot across or vertically.
    • Spears – these can shoot out up, down, or across from platforms
      • they move in patterns where sometimes they go three times in a row & in other cases they go once, pause a bit and then go 3 times again
      • in many cases you can sprint past many of them in a single go
    • Spinning blades – these rotate around blocks in a fixed pattern at a static speed
    • Small blocks – some of the small blocks you stand on quickly disappear after you stand on them
      • while these do not directly kill you, falling off them can
      • if you use them in the wrong order on some challenging stages you will likely end up needing to die to play the level again
  • Levels
    • This game has 50 levels which are unlocked sequentially.
      • You can go back and replay previously beat levels at any time.
    • Winning vs losing
      • You beat a level by safely exiting through the blue gate after it is opened.
      • Collect the blue flame to unlock the blue gate.
      • On some stages where the blue flame is behind bars you’ll need to step on a red switch first to unlock the blue flame.
  • Tips
    • When the level loads an overview square shows the current level number. If you try to move before this clears you can get stuck & throw your timing off.
    • On levels with bats you can feel out what sets them in motion & try to either avoid those areas, or if you must through them you can stay just short of them to time your motion through there to align the bat movement timing with other parts of the level that move.
    • On levels with fire flowers you typically want to beat the levels as quickly as possible to avoid getting hit. In some cases to make jumps you will either need to move in the wrong direction first so the fire is shot off course, or time your jump so that you jump over the flame.
