• Starting the Game
  • Press either the “A” or “Enter” keys on the keyboard or tap the welcome screen to bring up the level select screen.
    • Levels are unlocked sequentially.
    • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • Move left by pressing the A key or the left arrow key.
    • Move right by pressing the D key or the right arrow key.
    • Move up by pressing the W key or the up arrow key.
    • Move down by pressing the S key or the down arrow key.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap the screen with a finger and swipe in the direction you would like to move.
  • Controls & indicators
    • The level number shows in the upper left corner of the screen.
    • The upper right corner of the screen has 2 buttons for restarting the current level & showing the menu.
      • When the menu is selected it shows 3 buttons: sound control, level select screen, and game welcome screen.
    • The level select screen shows which levels you have completed.
• Game Play
  • Basics
    • This is a Sokoban inspired game where you help Santa Clause push presents under the Christmas trees, then escape out the chimney.
      • Each tree has a number above it, which decreases whenever you place a present under it.
      • When all the presents are correctly placed the trees will have no numbers above them.
      • After placing all the presents you need to exit the house through the chimney.
    • Fires, Snowballs, Presents & Trees
      • The presents disappear when they run into a Christmas tree.
      • The Christmas trees disappear after you put the right number of presents under them.
      • If you run into a fire it is game over.
      • Snowballs act almost like rocks, with the exception that they melt & disappear when they run into a fire. They also take out a fire when they hit one.
    • Sokoban differences & similarities
      • Like Sokoban you push boxes (or presents & snowballs) around the level & can only push one item at a time.
      • Unlike Sokoban, you move many squares at once & push items until they run into something.
        • When you run into something you stop the square before hitting it, and then it is pushed until it runs into something.
      • Unlike Sokoban, you can’t push something you are standing next to. Instead you have to approach the item from at least 2 squares away so you have enough momentum to push the item.
  • Levels
    • This game has 20 stages which are unlocked sequentially.
      • You can go back and replay previously beat levels at any time.
      • Most levels are quite easy, but the game gets a bit difficult by the time you get to the last half dozen levels.

    • Winning vs losing
      • You beat the level by putting the correct number of presents under each tree & then safely making your way out the chimney and onto the roof.
      • You lose the level if you run into fire or fall out through a hole in the building’s walls.
      • You have to place the presents in the correct order under the correct trees.
        • It is rather easy to get a present stuck where you can’t move it or get stuck where you can’t move to another part of the level.
        • If you get stuck you can reset the level & play again, as this game offers unlimited continues
  • Tips
    • Be careful not to put 2 presents in a row unless you can push at least one of them from an orthogonal direction.
    • Each level does not have any extra presents on it. You must ensure each present makes it to a tree & that each tree gets the correct number of presents.
    • If you keep getting stuck on a level try to make a different path which places a different present first.
    • With Sokoban you never want to put a box against a wall unless you can push it along the wall to another location. In this game you have to that you also need a wind-up on your motion, so you need to be able to have at least 2 free squares on the side you want to push from.
    • Watch out for gaps in the walls. You can fall through them or push a present through them & lose the level.
