Game Play
Basics
This is a room escape game based on stealth.
Stay out of the lights so you do not get spotted.
Hide in the walls as needed to allow you to cross through lighted areas.
Activate switches to turn lights off.
Make it through the exit door as quickly as you can.
Wall hiding
You can hide in (almost) any adjacent wall (including diagonally, walls just above you while you are standing still, and walls which are just above you while jumping).
When you hide inside a wall your next move must be to exit the wall.
On level 18 some steel beams are added to the game.
You can not through steel beams, making the next level quite challenging.
If you can’t tell if a wall can be entered a good rule of thumb is if there is green on the square you can enter & if it looks like a solid piece tied to other adjacent pieces that all lack green coloring you can not.
Other features
Lights have a timer meter above them which shows when they will switch states.
As you progress through the game some lights spin & some always on lights require you to step on switches to deactivate them.
Levels
This game has 20 stages which are unlocked sequentially.
You can’t go back and replay previous levels without starting the game over at the first stage.
If you restart the game or refresh your web browser you will start again at the first level.
Winning vs losing
You beat a level by safely making it to the exit door undetected.
You lose if you are seen in any of the lights.
This game offers unlimited continues.
Built-in speedrun feature
At the end of the game it shows how long it took you to beat the game.
Tips
General
If you are going for a speedrun it may make sense to try to cover a lot of each stage in each move, but if you are not it makes sense to break stages down into smaller sections so you do not have to travel as far before the light shines again.
When you get in some of the later levels you have to walk through walls at a diagonal. You can set the diagonal angle while in the wall and leave that set waiting for your exit timing. You do not need to touch the direction keys again until after you exit the wall.
Minimize the complexity of your moves. Each time you change directions in a move sequence is another chance to make an error.
In some cases you can walk across small chasms if you quickly subsequently walk into a wall.
Specific level tips
On level 13 you have to go up and around, falling through the switch into the bottom area. The timing is tight between the lights & sometimes you have to wait a couple cycles for the lights to be in sync to be able to .
On stage 14 press the 2 switches at the bottom of the screen and then make it to the exit without ing through any lights.
On stage 16 you can move back and forth while climbing up through the wall.
The timing on level 19 is super tight. It helps to start each longer movement from near the edge of the path to minimize the time you are exposed in the lights. Only begin a movement sequence right as the light goes out & go into walls at a diagonal on longer moves to limit how long you are exposed.
On level 20 & some other levels you have to climb tall walls, which require you to go into and out of the walls using a diagonal movement to climb. After climbing the tall wall in level 20 you have to through the walls across the top & through the gaps between them to be able to activate the switch to turn the light off before dropping down.
