  • Basic rules
    • Left click or tap on the screen to begin.
    • Your player character automatically walks by themselves.
      • You cannot jump, only walk or run.
      • You can also change the direction you walk or run.
      • This means that you cannot backtrack in this game.
    • Collect as many gems as you can.
      • The more gems you collect, the higher your level rating will be.
      • Collecting all the gems and reaching the exit grants you a rating of 3 stars.
    • Your goal is to reach the exit door somewhere in the room.
      • Fall from one platform to the next to go down.
      • Avoid any dangers you encounter.
    • Plan your route and collect as many of the gems before reaching the end of the level.
  • Lives
    • You start the game with 3 lives, represented by hearts on the top left corner of the screen.
    • Each time you touch an enemy or a spike, you lose a life.
    • Lose all your lives and you fail the level.
  • Level features
    • Enemy slimes
      • Enemy slimes will attack you if you are in the same platform.
      • They move faster whenever they sense you.
        • Without the laser gun, you are defenseless. You must outrun them.
        • Time your moves right so you won’t be immediately caught if you move to their platform.
        • They will stop chasing you once you’re off.
      • They will only chase you if they can see you. They will ignore you if their backs are turned.
    • Spikes
      • Spikes will harm you if you touch them.
      • Unlike slimes, spikes are stationary and are easy to avoid.
    • Brown spider
      • The brown spider is similar to the enemy slimes in that it moves back and forth on a fixed platform.
      • The big difference between the brown spider and the slimes is that when you get hit by a brown spider you lose all of your health.
    • Laser gun
      • The laser gun is your only line of defense against the slimes.
      • Pick up the laser gun wherever it may appear on the level.
        • You will automatically shoot at the slimes when they get too close.
        • The slimes don’t die, but they will be deactivated.
        • If the slime reactivates when you through it, you will get hurt and lose the gun.
      • Make sure to have the gun on hand as soon as you can.
      • The gun will also disappear after you’ve defeated all the enemy slimes toward the end of the level. Make sure to leave quickly once that happens.
    • Disappearing steps
      • These appear as floating stones that form a path.
      • When you step on them, they slowly disappear.
      • One they disappear completely, you will fall off them.
      • If you must turn around after walking on them, you must run.
    • Anvils
      • Anvils will fall if you walk beneath them. This effectively closes a path for you.
    • Enemy bats
      • Unlike blobs, bats won’t actively harm you while flying above you.
        • You also can’t shoot them with your ray gun.
      • They will harm you if you happened to hop off a platform while they fly below you.
        • Time your moves so that you don’t hop down when they’re about to fly in.
    • Portal doors
      • Portal doors lead from one area of the level to the next.
        • You have no idea where they go until you enter them.
        • You will typically exit the same direction you entered the prior door.
          • If you were moving left into the first door you will come out of the second door moving left.
      • Use them to go to higher-up places you wouldn’t otherwise be able to reach.
  • Levels
    • Levels are unlocked sequentially.
      • You start with only the first level unlocked.
      • Finish one level to unlock the next.
    • There are 20 levels in this game
      • You can replay any of the levels you’ve unlocked.
    • Winning vs losing
      • You win a level by exiting through the main exit door.
      • You lose a level if you run out of health.
    • Star ratings
      • Each level has a number of gems hidden on it.
      • Collecting all the gems and making it through the exit yields a 3-star rating.
        • The top center of the screen shows how many gems are on the current level and how many you have collected so far.
      • If you collect only some of the gems you’ll earn a 1- or 2-star rating.
  • Tips
    • If you score fewer than 3 stars on a stage continue through the rest of the game & come back to replay levels you earned a low star rating on.
      • You unlock the next level even if you do not get a great star rating.
      • Later levels are harder, so earlier levels will seem relatively easy after beating all levels in the game.
    • Timing moving platforms
      • When moving on moving platforms you have to move back and forth repeatedly.
      • When you move the same direction as a platform your relative speed is less than when you are moving the opposite direction a platform is moving.
      • When you fall off a platform you fall straight down.
      • Timing falling off one moving platform onto another requires even greater precision.
      • Sometimes when you walk across one moving platform to another moving platform the platforms will not be in sync & you might need to wait a couple cycles for them to be aligned.
      • Level 18 takes a lot of patience to earn 3 stars on.
    • Health
      • On many levels you will need to take at least one hit in order to collect all the gems.
      • If you beat a level with partial health you will start the next level with full health.
      • Sometimes it makes sense to use a sacrificial anode strategy of intentionally taking damage in order to avoid other damage. For example, on one stage you can fall onto spikes and be temporarily invincible so that the brown spider is unable to hit you as you past by it.
    • Laser guns
      • On most levels it makes sense to collect the guns.
        • There are a couple stages where collecting the gun will make it impossible to collect all the gems.
      • When you shoot an enemy they are only temporarily defeated & then their health restores, so be sure to through any platform with a shot enemy quickly.
      • Be sure you give yourself enough time to land without falling on an enemy & try to go onto a platform with your laser gun ready before the enemy is too near.
      • Each laser gun gives you 3 shots.
    • On the third part of the final stage you want to position yourself so you shoot the two bottom spiders, then the spider on the top right, pick up the gun from the top right, and then use the gun for the top left spider and the two middle spiders. You have to fall off the center platform and turn away from the near spider to not automatically shoot at it so that your 3 shots are saved for the bottom spiders and the top right spider.
