  • Basic rules
    • Merge groups of three or more identical number tiles into one.
      • Each group of tiles you merge will grow in value by twice the amount of the number on them.
        • For instance, merging three 2 tiles will yield a single 4 tile.
      • The tiles merge in the direction you select. Use this to your advantage as you play.
        • See if you can keep larger-valued tiles close to one another.
    • Each time you merge tiles, new ones fall in from the top of the screen to replace them.
      • As you create larger tiles, fewer smaller value tiles are generated.
    • Keep merging tiles until you reach and sur the 2048 tile.
    • If you run out of valid moves, the game ends.
      • Unlike other games of this type, you cannot use your power ups when you run out of moves.
  • Scoring
    • Each number you merge is worth 10 points. You gain at least 30 points for every group you merge.
    • Your high score is updated in real-time. Each time you reach your previous high score, your current and high scores move up at the same time.
  • Power ups
    • The game provides four different power ups:
      • The switch power up allows you to switch the places of two tiles. You begin with 4 of these.
      • The rocket power up removes one number tile. You begin with 3 of these.
      • The magnet power up collects all the tiles of that value and merges it with the one tile you selected. You begin with 2 of these.
      • The sort power up organizes all the tiles according to their values. You begin with only one of these.
    • You can gain new power ups by merging groups of tiles with gifts on them.
      • These appear at random.
      • When you merge a group with a gift, you have the chance to choose from one of four power ups at random.
      • Choose a gift to receive a power up.
    • Power ups are especially useful in helping you create valid rows and remove low-value tiles that stay behind.
  • Tips
    • Try to make moves high up on the board early & do not make moves lower down the board unless you have made relevant moves directly above first.
    • Tiles merge into the cell you select, so choose which location is best for enabling additional moves & organizing the playing field.
    • When you have few move options remaining use the power up tools to help reorganize the playing field.
