  • Setting the scene
    • Choosing a background
      • Select the background section on the top row.
      • Choose either a simple single-color background or a scene that resembles an actual place.
      • Unlike the other objects, you cannot select and delete the background.
        • You can, however, replace it with a different background.
        • To bring it back to the way it was before, select the white color background.
    • Adding and selecting objects
      • Select the objects you want from any category to add it to your canvas.
        • The arrow select bar in the top right can be used to cycle through categories.
        • The 8 icons left of the slidebar also indicate categories.
        • This utility features the following categories:
          • Background – blank, solid color, or dozens of scenes
          • Weather – trees, buildings, rocks, ponds, etc.
          • Characters – boys, girls, men, women, superheroes, people in animal outfits, people across a variety of careers, etc. (spread across selection menus 3 and 4)
          • Avatar Creator – heads, mouths, noses, eyes, eyebrows, hairstyles, facial hair, etc.
          • Monster Creator – completed monsters along with component parts of monsters like: arms, legs, hands, feet, bodies, heads, & accessories
          • Animals – pets, birds, zoo animals & animals seen regularly in nature
          • Objects – vehicles, character props, fashion accessories, tools & utilities, stickers, etc.
          • Speech Bubbles & Text – 26 individual letters, 10 individual numbers, playful versions of the letters of the alphabet, blank thought bubbles, comic styled action layovers, etc.
      • From there, you can select the image and customize it.
        • A selected object has 8 circles surrounding it, forming a square around it.
        • Selecting anywhere other than the controls at the bottom will deselect the image.
    • Layering the pictures.
      • Layering allows you to change whether something appears on the foreground or background.
      • Select the layering arrows to move the selected object to the front or to the back.
      • We recommend placing another object close to the one you plan to move. This will help you determine how far back you want the item to be.
  • Adjusting your images
    • Make sure the object you want to rotate or resize is actively selected before you attempt to resize.
    • You can rotate each image clockwise or counterclockwise.
    • You can change the size of each image in one of two ways.
      • Select the height and width arrows to make the object taller or wider as you see fit.
      • Select the enlarge or shrink arrows to make the object bigger or smaller without changing their proportions.
  • Recoloring images
    • Make sure the object you want to recolor is selected.
    • Use the plus and minus buttons on each color value in the recolor section to change the color of the objects.
    • The sliders use the RGB color system. Here are a few hints to get you started:
      • Increase green and red to make the image more yellow.
      • Increase the blue and red to make the image more magenta (a color similar to pink).
      • Increase the blue and green to make the image more cyan (a sort of bright mix of blue and green).
      • Equalize all the colors’ values to darken or black out the image (0 and negative numbers) or lighten it (positive numbers).
    • The object changes color as a whole. You cannot change a single color in an image.
  • Saving your work
    • Select the button on the top left corner to save your finished work as a PNG file on your device.
• General Art Tips
  • Things in the background will look smaller than things in the front. If you want to put something far back, make it smaller.
  • Foreground (front) elements look better if they’re darker.
