• Starting the Game
  • On the welcome screen, select the play button to begin.
  • Your web browser automatically saves your best score.
    • You can view your best score on the top left corner of the welcome screen.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • With your mouse, left click on the pieces to select them. Drag and drop the selected pieces into the grid.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap on the screen with your fingers and use them as a mouse.
  • Controls and indicators (top row, left to right):
    • Best score
    • Current score
    • Speaker button: Turns the game’s sounds on and off
    • Home button: Quits the game and returns you to the welcome screen
• Game Play
  • Basic rules
    • You begin with a blank grid and 4 pieces.
      • Each piece consists between 1 and 9 units arranged in a specific shape.
    • Drag and drop the pieces from the menu on the bottom row onto the grid.
      • Once you’ve removed all the pieces on the bottom menu, you’ll receive 4 new pieces.
      • Run out of places to put the pieces in and it’s game over.
    • Form a row or column of 9 units to clear them from the grid.
    • Keep forming rows & columns as often as you can to keep the grid clear.
    • Units of the same color that form a 2×3 rectangle or 3×3 square will merge together.
      • Besides appearing as pieces, these can also form when you put together pieces of the same color.
      • These merged pieces count as a single large unit and will be cleared when included in a line.
      • Merged pieces yield the same number of points as the sum of their components when placed or cleared.
  • Scoring
    • You earn 2 points for every unit in each piece you place on a grid.
      • A piece with 4 units, for instance, will be worth 8 points.
      • The larger the piece, the more points it’s worth.
    • Clearing a full row is worth 5 points for every piece, or about 50 points for a solid row.
    • Clearing a solid row plus a 3 x 3 piece is worth a whopping 80 points.
    • Your best score is updated in real time. Sur your previous best score and both your best and current scores rise at the same time.
  • Tips
    • You have to play all 4 pieces from a set before you will be dealt new pieces.
      • If a piece shows up in a lighter color it means it can not be laid, so look for other moves you can make to clear out enough space to be able to play it.
      • You can not rotate your pieces. It generally makes sense to play larger pieces first & ensure any lay you make does not block the ability to play other pieces.
    • Pieces
      • The pieces you are dealt can be as small as a 1×1 dot to as large as a 3×3 block.
      • Pieces can be a 3 wide by 3 tall L-shaped design in any orientation.
      • Pieces can also be 4×1 or 5×1.
    • Optionality
      • Try to keep at least one 3×3 grid open, one 5×1 horizontal play, & one 1×5 vertical play open on the field so you can lay any piece type you are dealt.
      • If there is a 3×2 or 3×3 colored square in a row or column you can complete that can open up a lot of play options.
