• Starting the Game
  • Press the START button in the middle of the welcome screen to bring up the level select screen, then click on the first dot to start the first level.
  • Underneath the START button there is a button for controlling game OPTIONS including master volume, SFX volume, music volume, and display screenshake.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • Move left by pressing the A key or the left arrow key.
    • Move right by pressing the D key or the right arrow key.
    • Jump by pressing the W key, the up arrow key, or the spacebar.
    • Use your mouse left click button on a used key at the bottom of the screen to return the key to playable status.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • This game was designed for play on computing devices with a connected keyboard.
  • Controls & indicators
    • After you the first level any keys you have available to use are shown in light gray with white button text at the bottom of the screen.
    • Used keys are shown in the darker gray.
    • Throughout levels there are progress check flags which wave as you them.
• Game Play
  • Basics
    • This is a clever platforming game which requires you to use keyboard keys as temporary platforms to make it across the stages.
      • While a key is being used you are unable to move in the direction shown on the key.
      • After a key has been used you can then put the key back in inventory to use it again.
    • The game often requires you to use keys in conjunction, stand near their edges or jump off them & lay another key, then repeat the process until you cross a chasm.
    • On the third level there are some areas with a teal diagonal line which indicate where you are unable to move keys.
  • Levels
    • This game has 3 levels which are unlocked sequentially.
      • You can’t go back and replay previously beat levels without starting the game over at the beginning of the first stage.
    • Winning vs losing
      • You beat a level by making it to the exit box at the end of the stage.
      • You die if you hit spikes or fireballs.
      • This game offers unlimited continues.
        • You start at the location of the most recent red flag you have crossed.
        • If you die before ing a red flag you start at the beginning of the stage.
  • Tips
    • Building a ladder
      • If you are jumping straight up you can stand on a left or right movement key then drag the other key into play just below it, select the lower key, jump, and then release the lower key selection to place it a square or two above where the old jumping key location was.
      • This process can be repeated to create a ladder.
      • On the third level you can skip a portion of the stage by building your ladder up to the second area & then continuing to build up to the third then jump across, avoiding the portion of the level where you move to the left and then back to the right.
    • Double step
      • You can stand with a leg on each of two different keys at the same time, allowing you to remove either key while your character remains standing on the other key.
    • Timing movements
      • All enemy fireballs fire at a regular cadence.
      • If you are having trouble timing a movement observe the patterns.
      • Sometimes you have to go just after the third fireball fires in a sequence of 3 and run quickly until you have ed the area.
    • Tricky ending
      • On the final level near the end of the game when you right through the area with the blue blockers & then back left on the top row it is a bit tricky to make it across the second blue area.
      • Entering the area you should stand on the key which prevents you from moving left. This block should be to the far left of the right blue area & one cell below it.
      • While standing there place a key on the right side of the spikes to your left.
      • Jump straight up, then click on the “no left” key to remove it from the field so you can move left on that jump onto the other key.
      • While you are on that key you can move left slightly & then use the double key movement.
      • From there you can use the ladder movement to get one square higher.
      • Then time your jump across to avoid the 3 fireballs coming up at you.
