• Starting the Game
  • Select Play Game on the game’s welcome screen.
    • On your first playthrough it will take you through a mini tutorial level where writing on the background explains the premise of the game.
    • On subsequent plays you go directly into the game (or at least plays the rocket critical intro message then has you play).

      • You are ultimately playing against time, so it is best to ignore coins.
      • Each level generally takes at least 6 seconds to beat (with some taking longer), so when you consider there are 15 levels you are using over half the time on a perfect playthrough with no deaths even if you do not stop to pick up any coins.
  • Dying
    • In the original 2 Minutes to Escape you had infinite lives but only 2 minutes to make it through the game & you had 3 heart containers which were fully restored each time you died or each time you made it to a new room.
    • In this game you one-hit die if you hit electrical spikes or are hit by fire from one of the ship’s defense rockets.
      • A single hit kills you & you restart the current level as long as you have some of your 20 lives remaining.
      • You are given a maximum of 20 lives and 3 minutes to make it through all 15 stages.
      • If you run out of time it is game over and you start with a full 3 minutes and 20 lives on the first stage for your next play.
